Day 23

Psalm 68:9–10 (NET)

O God, you cause abundant showers to fall on your chosen people.
When they are tired, you sustain them,
for you live among them.
You sustain the oppressed with your good blessings, O God.
There is a sweetness in the gentle rains of spring. The scent is fresh as the earth responds with new life. There is warmth, renewal and life in those rains. That is what the abundance of the Lord is like. God brings refreshing, renewal, sustenance and life.

This verse is a reminder that God is a God of abundance and He is what people need. He is what sustains the tired. His presence sustains the oppressed. Because He lives among us!

Are you in need of God’s abundant showers? Abundant = not limited, freely given, and more than enough! God is near and God is what we need. It is He who brings life, He who refreshes and He who sustains.
Prayer Focus for today:
Where do you need God’s “abundant showers” today? In what area of your life do you need to be sustained? Where are you feeling weary, tired or oppressed? Where are you feeling dry or lifeless?

Write down your area of need. Ask God for His “abundant showers” in that area. Ask Him to reveal to you how He is already near and present.
